What is the Explorers’ Holiday Club 2010?
The Explorers’ Holiday Club is a summer holiday club for both boys and girls in primary school years 1 - 6 (as of June 2010), or starting year 1 in September 2010. The club is very popular and attracts about 120 children from local schools.
The club is run by volunteers from Godmanchester Baptist Church and other local churches. All adult helpers and leaders are required to complete our Child Protection Programme which includes an enhanced CRB check and training.
When will the Explorers’ Holiday Club run?
The club will take place on the mornings of 16 – 20th August 2010. The programme lasts from 10.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
What do we do at Explorers?
The club has a high energy, action packed, programme including games, craft, stories, music and many other activities. The 2010 club, called Rocky’s Plaice, is set in a fish restaurant which will provide a backdrop for hilarity and whacky fun.
The activities will be age related in order to make the programme attractive for all age groups; some activites are done together.
We are planning a Family Entertainment Show on Thursday 19 August, 6-7p.m. followed by refreshments.
How much does the club cost?
The cost is £5-6 for the whole week.
How do I register for the Explorers’ Holiday Club?
Registration will begin in May. Information and application forms are distributed to both Godmanchester Community and St. Anne’s schools. When registration begins, this website will have downloadable forms and will keep you informed whether places are still available . Please note that the places generally fill very quickly. In 2009 we unfortunately had to turn children away becasue we could not accommodate anymore. So please book early to avoid disappointment.
