What is Re:forge?

Re:forge is our name for “Sunday School”. It’s not like school but it does happen on a Sunday! There are groups for children and young adults in secondary school years 7, 8 and 9, and in primary school or younger. Currently, there are over 50 children attending Re:forge led by a team of leaders and helpers.

The groups are according to age and school year.

  • cRe:che: too small for the other groups!
  • Re:ady: pre-school, reception year and year 1
  • Re:action: primary years 2, 3 and 4
  • Re:ach: primary years 5 and 6
  • Re:quest: secondary years 7
  • Re:ason: secondary years 8 and 9

Each group is led by two adults. All leaders and helpers are CRB checked to meet the standards of our Child Protection Policy.

When does Re:forge meet?

Re:forge meets each Sunday morning. The main worship starts at 10.30 a.m. Re:forge leave at approximately 10.50 a.m. to attend their group sessions. The Re:quest and Re:ason groups share a monthly praise and worship called Furnace with the older youth.

What does Re:forge do?

We mostly follow the LIGHT materials, a modern and age appropriate programme of bible-based sessions produced by Scripture Union. Our aim for the children is

  • to develop skills to explore the bible creatively,
  • to discover how to follow Jesus at home and at school,
  • to encourage growth in faith.

The aims are achieved through play activities, stories, games, drama, craft, bible reading, and other exciting methods.
